SPEAKER EXPENSES
We are looking at ways to support speakers by assisting with travel and accommodation expenses. At this time we have no confirmed funding but we will keep speakers informed of any changes. In the event that funding becomes available, those with the most expenses (typically international guests) will be considered first.
If your ability to speak at webDU is contingent on speaker assistance, please indicate this clearly in your submission.
As always, speakers will be lavished with love and celebrity status regardless :)
SUBMISSIONS
Applications must be received by 6-November-2006. If your topic is selected for presentation at the conference, you will be notified by 17-November-2006. At that time, you will be asked to enter into an agreement that defines your responsibilities and establishes your deadlines.
The following information MUST accompany your submission:
Presenter name, title, company, address, email, phone, and fax.
Brief presenter biography, including history of speaking experience if any, and any certifications, details of published works, and anything else to sell yourself to us and to the public (will be used for the website).
Proposed session title.
Session description (at least a paragraph).
Session format.
Indicate if proposed session is for the beginner, intermediate, advanced, or suitable for all audiences.
Any prerequisite knowledge the audience must have prior to your presentation.
Any special requirements for your presentation.
International speakers who need to fast track their submission in order to book travel should indicate their deadlines.
webDU 2007 Work Shops
We are also inviting proposals for WorkShop sessions sessions for webDU 2007. The classes would run the day before webDU, on the Wednesday, 21 March 2007.
We're feeling our way at the moment with the workshop concept. Our plan is to profit share with the speaker, although the details of this are yet to be determined. We hope this might be a great way to help offset the cost of your journey to webDU. Locations are yet to be determined, however we have access to state of the art facilities in the heart of Sydney. Class sizes and costs are to be determined pending a favourable response to this proposal.
WorkShop sessions should be approximately 1/2 day in length, however full-day sessions will be considered especially for more advanced topics. Remember, all levels of developers attend webDU, and some may be experts in one field but beginners in another and interested in knowing more.
Your proposal for WorkShops should include:
Presenter name, title, company, address, email, phone, and fax.
Brief presenter biography, including history of training and speaking experience if any, and any macromedia certifications and qualifications, details of published works, and anything else to sell yourself to us and to the public (will be used for the website).
Proposed training session title.
Training session description (at least a paragraph).
Training format (eg hands on with computers, seminar style only, etc)
Indicate if proposed session is for the beginner, intermediate, advanced, or suitable for all audiences. Also include preferred class sizes (in numbers, i.e. 6-8, max 30, and so on)
